Snowfall Accumulation Map – Final Call

The low pressure system still looks to dive into Northern GA and then through Central SC and out to sea. Earlier there was concern that this system might “bomb out” just off the Carolina coast but now that does not appear to happen. This same system will meet the surface low off the Maine coast and probably drop a foot […]

Treacherous travel looks to be in the cards for the mountains this weekend and even some snow flurries and snow showers could spill into the Foothills and Northern Piedmont. With the warm temperatures we have had lately it would take very heavy snowfall too accumulate on road surfaces and this looks likely in the mountains but not so much outside […]

Winter Storm Coming For Western NC With Snow Showers Into The Piedmont

I want to make a quick post as far as where we stand with the winter storm this weekend. This energy was at one time Hurricane Ana in the Pacific Ocean and then it was absorbed […]

Snow Likely This Weekend For Some

I am beginning to think I may need to increase totals across the Foothills but still want to wait on the evening model guidance before jumping on that train. I am growing increasingly concerned in the Northern Piedmont as well since the GFS has for at least 5 model runs shown a secondary accumulation area near the Triad and now […]

Snow flurries and snow showers will be possible anywhere in the green areas outlined in the map below with a few spots picking up a dusting of snow even outside of the mountains. It is hard to pinpoint who […]
